It is being widely reported today (though the story seems to have originated in today's edition of The Times) that the Chancellor is planning to extend the stamp duty holiday until the end of June, answering the question posed by my colleague Emma Myers earlier this month.
You can never be sure that what is reported in advance of the Budget will come to fruition, but we can at least be sure that the paper thought its source had sufficient credibility for it to run the story on the front page this morning; it would be pretty embarrassing for the paper if it turned out not to be true.
Only a week until all will be revealed...
